The catechism day at Mai De Deus Church, Puttur was celebrated on February 25, 2018, was indeed a memorable and beautiful day, where all parents and children joyfully participated in the Eucharistic Celebration. It is a day of thanksgiving to the Lord. Rev. Fr. George Crasta was the main celebrant, and all were so much taken up by his thought provoking sermon. Rev. Fr. Alfred J. Pinto, Fr. Valerian D’Souza and Fr. Praveen D’ Souza concelebrated in the Eucharistic Celebration. Children took active part in the liturgy and the children’s melodius choir added beauty to the celebration.
The Holy Mass was followed by the Eucharistic Adoration, whereby Rev. Fr.George Crasta, led everyone to the Ocean of Love who is none other than our creator and lover of mankind, Jesus Christ. Everyone was elevated and drawn to the Lord by praise and worship. It was continued for half an hour and was concluded with solemn Benediction.
After the Benediction, the parish catechism children who have been successful in learning the truths of our faith are felicitated by Rev. Fr. George Crasta.
A token of appreciation was given to the teachers for their voluntary service to conduct catechism classes.
Prizes were distributed to the students who maintained 90 and 100% attendance, highest 3 toppers in the catechism exam and maintaining clean and neat notes. The programme was held in the Church and after the programme refreshment was given in the hall.
